What do you get from an AI video check tool?
The AI-generated video check gives you more than a simple real or fake answer. Diopter gives a verdict along with detection evidence behind it, so you understand how strongly the signals support the results.
Every check includes:
A verdict: Likely Synthetic or Real (no AI).
A confidence level and detection score: Shows how strongly the evidence supports the verdict.
Suspect region: An overview of the areas in the video that contributed to the result.
How do you read the report?
Start with the verdict and confidence level to understand the overall result. Then look at the detection score and suspect region to see what contributed to it. The signal-by-signal breakdown and the analyzer timeline provide a more detailed review.
Diopter’s confidence score suggests that results with 80% confidence and above are recommended for a hold and further action, whereas results between 50% and 79% confidence are recommended for review.
How AI video detection works
Here is a quick breakdown of how this tool works:
Upload the video
Upload videos in MP4, MOV or WEBM format up to 200 MB via drag-and-drop. Completely hassle-free with no technical setup.
Diopter runs the AI-powered analysis
The AI video detection check looks at several types of evidence in a video rather than depending on a single anomaly.
- Facial signs
- The detector examines patterns such as blink behavior, microexpressions, and lip-sync consistency.
- Motion and temporal signs
- The video is checked across different frames for motion artifacts and temporal inconsistencies.
- Generator signals
- The detector also looks for fingerprints associated with known AI-generation systems.
Get results
After the analysis, you receive a verdict, detection score, confidence level and suspect-region overview. The public detector returns results in under 60 seconds.
Detection against AI video generators
To detect AI video, the detector uses generator-related signatures alongside other video signals.
Diopter's current coverage includes HeyGen, RunwayML, Sora, Kling, Luma, Pika, Synthesia and D-ID, among others. The detection models are retrained against updated generator outputs as systems and techniques evolve.
Where can an AI video check help?
AI video checking can be used whenever a video is being used as part of a decision, verification process or investigation.
Suspicious videos
If a video is circulating online and something about it seems unusual, an AI video check can provide another source of evidence before the file is shared, acted upon or escalated.
Candidate videos
A recorded interview or candidate video can be checked when a hiring team needs another signal about whether the submitted footage is AI-manipulated or generated.
Onboarding and KYC
Identity-related recordings can be checked for signs of face swaps or synthetic video before it moves further into an onboarding or verification workflow.
Executive or vendor recordings
A recorded video containing an approval, payment instruction or unusual request can be checked before someone acts on it. This is particularly relevant when the person shown appears to be a known executive, colleague or vendor contact.
Media verification
News, communications and media teams can check videos submitted by users or circulating publicly before publication or redistribution.
Why is AI video detection useful for business and verification teams?
An AI video detector matters when seeing a familiar face on screen is no longer enough to establish that the person or recording is genuine.
The 2024 Arup case shows the risks of deepfake impersonation in business. An employee joined a video call with digitally recreated executives and was ultimately tricked into authorizing 15 transfers worth HK$200 million (about US$25.6 million).
According to the Sumsub Identity Fraud Report 2025-2026, there was a 180% increase in sophisticated fraud compared to the previous year. The rise was driven by AI-generated identities and deepfake-enabled schemes.

A low-confidence score should be treated as a signal for further review. A confidence score of 50% to 79% warrants a review, while those with 80% and above warrant a hold.
