Diopter for ChatGPT
Ask ChatGPT whether an image, video, or voice clip is AI-generated. Diopter analyzes the media and returns a verdict with a link to the full report.
Connect in three steps
- Step 1
Create a free Diopter account
Sign up with Google or email. Every scan you run from ChatGPT is saved to your Diopter dashboard.
- Step 2
Add Diopter AI in ChatGPT
Open the Diopter AI listing in ChatGPT, or search for Diopter AI under Plugins, and choose Connect.
- Step 3
Sign in and approve access
ChatGPT opens a Diopter sign-in window. Once you approve, ChatGPT can send media to Diopter on your behalf.
Just ask
Type @Diopter, upload the file or paste a direct link to it, and ask ChatGPT to check it.
- @Diopter Is this image AI-generated? [attach a photo]
- @Diopter Is this video a deepfake? https://example.com/clip.mp4
- @Diopter Was this voice note made with voice cloning? https://example.com/voice.mp3
- @Diopter What's the status of my last scan?
What the app can do
Detect AI-generated media
Checks an image, video, or audio file uploaded in chat or shared as a direct https link, runs Diopter's detection models, and returns a verdict, a confidence score, and a link to the full report.
Get detection result
Fetches the latest verdict for an earlier scan by its request ID. Useful when a longer video is still processing.
Both tools only read and analyze media. They don't change anything in your ChatGPT account or other accounts.
Questions
- What media can Diopter check?
- Images, video, and audio. Upload the file in chat, or share a direct, publicly reachable https link.
- How many scans can I run?
- Free accounts include the same scan allowance as uploads on diopter.ai. Contact us if your team needs more.
- Why did a known AI image come back as real?
- Check the original file, not a screenshot or a compressed copy. Screenshots and resizing remove many of the signals the detector looks for.
- Does Diopter see my ChatGPT conversations?
- No. Diopter only receives the media and the options ChatGPT passes to the tool. We handle submitted media under our Privacy Policy.
- How do I disconnect?
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, find Diopter AI in your connected apps, and choose Disconnect. Your past scans stay in your Diopter dashboard.
